This podcast is on #24 of Social Media Today. The quality of the podcast is good. All the levels are constant except for the little intro part to the pod cast; other than that the sound is decent.
I’m not a big fan of digital audio but that seems the only way to hear a podcast so it must be judged within its own context.
Getting the podcast to play was amazingly easy; easy to stream online or download. The music at the launch of the podcast is of standard digital audio quality. However, there does seem to be a few ‘pops’ with the P’s when the host is speaking. Enough of the content…on to the content.
The content is hilarious. The host is interviewing a guy named Douglas Walker. He and his brother have set up a podcast. They also set up the World Rock Paper Scissors Society.
The podcast started out as a sports parody show. They talked about darts and other sports that are not really sports to most people but discussed them as if they we real enthusiasts or the ‘sport’. The society that they set up was supposed to be a society that was setup in the 1800’s. according to Doug, “the whole thing is backwash.”
They set up this idea of the society because they wanted to try it for blogger outreach and wanted to see how it would work with only PR and word of mouth. People seemed to believe it though so they ran with it. This episode also let listeners know that the current host, Maggie Fox, was leaving the show and the man being interviewed, Douglas Walker, would be taking over as the host. If you'd like listen to the interview then it is right here and if you'd like to learn more about the World Rock Paper Scissors Society the click here.
